Ernesto Rodrigues (born 1956-) is an Associate Professor at the
Faculdade de Letras of the Universidade de Lisboa. A former journalist and lecturer in Portuguese at the University of
Budapest from 1981-1986, he has published twenty works of both poetry and
fiction from his debut in 1973 until his most recent publication Liliputine in 2023.
Rodrigues has compiled prefaced editions for twenty one Portuguese authors, and translated more than twenty works from Hungarian, including the Nobel Laurete Imre Kertész, Sándor Márai, Desző Kasztolányi and Magda Szabó together with an Anthology of Hungarian Poetry published in 2002. He has compiled eight volumes of essays, of which Mágico Folhetim: Literatura e Jornalismo em Portugal (1998) and Cultura Literária Oitocentista (1999) are of particular mention.

In passato fu giornalista, lettore di portoghese presso l’Università di Budapest (1981-1986), pubblicò, dal suo esordio (1973), fino al piú recente Liliputine (2023), 20 titoli di poesie e fizione.
Preparó edizioni, prefazioni, di 21 autori portoghesi, e tradusse una ventina di opere ungheresi, incluso il premio nobel Imre Kertész, Sándor Márai, Dezső Kosztolányi, Magda Szabó, oltre ad un’Antologia della poesia ungherese (2002). Riunì in una raccolta otto volumi di saggi, tra cui Magico Folhetim “Il magico romanzo a puntate”. Literatura e Jornalismo em Portugal (1998), “Letteratura e Giornalismo in Portogallo” (1998) e Cultura Literária Oitocentista (1999), “Cultura letteraria ottocentista (1999)”.
